Devotional thought for the morning...

"Come now, you who say, 'Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit' - yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring."

Youth Ministry

This week's youth Bible class continues our series, "Courage That Defies Death." The text for this week is Daniel 6:1-28. For full context of this account you could read the first five chapters of Daniel, specifically Daniel 1, 4-5. While we may not always display the same courage as Daniel, his story points us to Christ who was courageous unto death on our behalf. His work on the cross now frees us to live courageously in the midst of persecution of all kinds. The presentation slides can be downloaded here if you'd like to print them out and write on them. The video portion of the Bible study can be accessed by clicking here or on the image above.
So it's easy as one...two...three. First, click and watch the video above. Second, pause to ponder the questions or discuss them with your family. Third, Andrew Nelson any follow up questions via text or e-mail.

COVID-19 UPDATE

Dear Chapel of the Cross,

“The LORD is my Light and My Salvation.” He is both, David said – “my Light and my Salvation – so whom shall I fear?” (Psalm 27:1) This same LORD is my Shepherd, David confessed, so … “I shall not want.” (Psalm 23:1) These are important words to read, hear, and confess in such interesting and challenging days. I am reminded that this is all true daily by God’s Word, and by your faithful witness and partnership in God’s Kingdom.

After much prayer and deliberation among our staff, in line with area pastors and leaders, and in light of recommendations from government and health officials, Chapel of the Cross will be moving to a digital ministry platform from now through April 6th. During this time, we will worship together online and study Gods’ Word together through digital resources.

Any updates and all our digital resources will be available at: chapelofthecrosslutheran.org/health. On this web-page you will find:

  • Links to all our online services. We will LIVE stream worship each Wednesday (7:00 p.m.) and Sunday (8:00 a.m.). These services are also available “On Demand” for you to watch anytime.
  • Bible study materials for adults, youth, children, and families to use in your home.
  • Updates and information about our worship and other programming.

Further details regarding online worship and Bible study resources will be available in the coming days. Our staff will do the best we can in these unprecedented times to remain present for you, so if you have any needs during this time do not hesitate to call our office. We have volunteers ready to help those in need. Please be in fervent prayer for our nation’s leaders and public servants, those who are sick, and those caring for the sick, as well as business owners, employers and employees. We take all of our prayers to our Heavenly Father with all boldness and confidence knowing that He invites us to ask as dear children ask their dear father.

In Christ,

Pastor Mark
